Active Sigils:Īctive sigils are powered by remembering them and feeding them intention. The Sigil will really start working its magic once you have entirely forgotten about it. The moment that they are remembered, they lose their effect, or it becomes very weak. In this form of Sigilwork, Sigils will only manifest while they aren’t remembered. The effects will be manifest immediately. You are not limited in how you can destroy the Sigil! You can burn, tear, shred, melt, smudge, or soak them (If drawn in water-based ink). I use this method to amplify my spells and intentions. Depending on the caster, it could last up to two days. Once the Sigil is destroyed its power is at 150% but decreases back to 0% at an exponential rate. This method involves destroying the Sigil. However, the effects are very short-lived. It is the strongest in terms of manifestation. If you are totally new, here are some examples of some Sigils that I have made: It is very important that, while you are drawing the Sigil, you are present and mindfully putting the right intention into it. However, one method may be more suitable for certain Sigils than the others. There are three very distinct views on this matter: Instant, Passive, and Active.I personally believe all are correct. See below for some creative ways to use permanent or semi-permanent sigils. You can also choose a semi-permanent sigil that will be slowly released over time. However, sometimes frequently seeing a sigil can act as a reminder to your unconscious self and will repeatedly give energy to your intention or desire. Then you can move on about your life and allow the sigil to do its thing. When you destroy a sigil it allows the intention or desire to be released so it can fulfill its purpose. Remember sigil magic is about creating and releasing it into your subconscious mind. When trying to decide for yourself, consider your sigil intention. There can be some debate about destroying sigils and if it’s required or not. Don’t let the artistic beauty hold you back, instead let your intuition guide you! Feel free to add a few creative touches or place a circle around your final image to contain its energy.Ī common frustration with sigil creation is the aesthetic. If you have too many letters remaining and find it challenging to combine them into a sigil design that resonates with you, try removing vowels to simplify the process. Use robust and powerful words you’d like your sigil to represent. The choice, of course, is entirely up to you! Remember to use positive words and avoid negative comments like don’t, won’t, or not. ( Example – I feel beautiful in my own skin – see photo below). If you struggle to write down your intention, you can try using Spare’s suggestion to start with “I wish.” However, in more modern magic, many believe it’s essential to write in the present tense as if your intention has already come to fruition. To create your own word sigil, start with your intention (Spare referred to this as your statement of desire), remove any repeating letters, and use the remaining letters to design a sigil.
